Lesson 7 - Learning never stops

We would have all experienced this during our ages of going to school or college, you would have a final exam coming month, your parents say this one particular sentence during that time " If you learn now for this exam then you can be free afterwards". Now, intresting part is that after few months we realise we would have to study for other exam.

Now people who think learning stops right after exams and tests conducted by schools or colleges have misunderstood concept of studying and learning.

Difference between Study and Learn

By defination, study means "the activity or process of learning about something by reading, memorizing facts, attending school, etc." This means you are studying a lot during school and college days to memorize facts and information which you might not necessarily be intrested. By defination, learn means "gain or acquire knowledge of or skill in (something) by study, experience, or being taught." This means you do it out intrest/passion to understand that particular subject.

Now, that realisation of difference between study and learn striked well with me. During my early days, even i had this confused. I always used to think when will learning/ studying stop(I wasn't aware of its difference). Not just me, lot of people go through this. For example, for a chef, his/her passion is to cook and learns a lot about it, but they also study about few finance topics to keep their buisness running.

Same applies in day to day life with all of us. We study few topics to make sure we update our memory, while we learn things to either improve skills or knowledge for longer run.

To survive, it's important to learn

Life is very tricky to understand. You might think you have aced all departments or subjects that you have taken up. But, folks here is a mistake we make. Everytime we think we have learnt a particular subject or situation, life poses with next problem statement with different learning curve.

To just give an example, mother goes through different stages of learning while nurturing her kids. At initial stages she learns via experience that how to meet demands of kids and how to keep them healthy. After certain years, she now learns how to not restrict them via experience/ suggestions from the environment around them. After certain years, she understands she has to open up to her kids to ask help and learns that she cannot do everything thing by herself. These learnings are not soley by study of book, she toiled hard to understand these at different scenarios, at different situations and at different perspectives.

Learning is not just on basis of what you are going to improve your skills, it's to survive and to move on. Learning is not by books, memorization and tests. It's by experiencing, practising and actively working to reach desired solution.

Why does learning never stop?

This question still triggers my brain cells a lot! Have you ever experienced a scenario where you didn't knew about that subject a while back, but some situation arises, where you understand you will have to learn as there is no other choice to reach you desired destination. Now, it's our own choice which leads us to learn new things. No one apart from us create these scenarios. No one can learn instead of us and lead our life.

These are basics of life. You learn as you are paving new path for future generations to survive and make it more easier for them to explore other paths which you havent explored.

For this we can take beautiful example from our ancestors, water has become so easy to access with all these new tools, inventions or methodologies. We all have heard stories about how far our ancestors used to travel for few litres of water. Now there might be some person who seriously wanted to solve this problem. Their studies and methods would have passed on from generation to generation which lead us to have taps, showers and what not.

Your learnings are future studies

Learning never stops and so does teaching. This cycle cannot be broken. If it breaks, humans or animals have lost an essential skill of survival. We humans always learn and share it to our dear ones so that they don't have to face that problems. Our experiences are learnings for us but we teach it to others as studies irrespective they have this problem or not.

But why?

Information should be shared which can increase others chance of survival. We are in year 2022, not just because we have increased number of years count, rather during this time from generation to generation we have passed essential skill or methods of survival as studies. Before we even face a problem, learn it.

So back to square one, study books or articles as it expands your knowledge. It might not be relevant, but it's always good to know how others learnt from the situation they were in and how they solved it.

If you are reading this article right now, you might also be wondering about your experiences and learnings. Make sure you have a list of those as next set of generation needs them to survive.

Thanks a lot for lot of response on previous blog😃, very happy to know people are reading and appreciating these blogs. Share your thoughts below on your experiences that you might share to people to increase their chance of survival.

lesson 1-Everyone's motive is to survive

Survival defines motive for many people to strive longer to achieve their goal. Survival also defines your emotion to an object, position or relation. Survival will make us thrive to hit the bullseye even from far distance. It is the last that we have got to stay where we want and where we want to be. Survival motive may vary from person to person but in the end, they shout out be in the world that they dreamt of. For a Farmer, it is food and money to survive, for a kid its learning and food, for a businessman its good deal between partners and for an engineer it is the product that defines its purpose. why does everyone think of survival? Instinct developed subconsciously by the brain to be away from threats or being dropped out of the crowd. Let me give you an example, Teacher at your school might give you an assignment which is easy but the deadline was given way to near. We tend to use "hook or crook" method to complete the necessary task but, if we couldn'

Lesson 2- Believe in your positives

Believe is a word that inspires you to live for a day or more in your life. Believe is the word that ensures you to survive today no matter how many challenges you face. Believe is the word that lets you make the decision for your future. Believe is an emotion that you convey to your peer that you're strong enough to handle the given task. Believe in your decision and make them your positives. Why should I believe myself when my decisions are always bad?  No one is born a genius, an expert or a leader. It is on their belief and acceptance of their decision on any outcome. It is our belief on how we should act further from the current outcome of the decision. The given flowchart below is one of my experiences and method that I personally follow to obtain the goal on whatever decision I make. I just believe in myself that a failure is a next step for the success. Example: A mother never fails to give up on her teaching just because she wants to see the other end of the resul

lesson 4-Just do it !

There are a thousand reasons why you don't work but, you just need one reason to work. We all think and dream big, sketch the plan beautifully but it turns out we just don't implement it due to the hectic schedules or lack of confidence or just due to laziness. You know why we don't do it? The goal seems too far to reach. You don't understand where to start. you are exhausted by just planning what to do. It is time-consuming. let us get down to this organic small brain that tickles us not to do stuff by an example: when we have 100 pages of record to write and deadline seems to be closer, we make up our mind to write but, our brain just builds pressure on thinking "it is too much to write" and it repeats for several times until we give up. Then there is a thought of provocation "why didn't I do this before?" this is called procrastination. When we see achievable targets our brain would say "its simple, I can do this tomo
