Lesson 6 - Learn, Unlearn and Relearn

Did you ever listen to your favourite song more than twice? And in that there was one of your favourite lines, after listening to it, did you realise it had more meaning than you initially learnt from it?
That wonderful moment, you had sparkle in your eyes! This credits will go to learning, unlearning and relearning.
Learning is a hard and fast rule to survive. The moment we are born on this world, we start learning. When we are a baby we learn about how things work around us, when we turn teenagers we learn how our bodies work and when we are in adulthood we learn what responsibilities are.

We learn as much as we can with our motives and goals. As we keep surviving, our brain can't recall or store all. So, what does it do? Replace! Things which aren't important for survival or daily use our brain makes a smart move to give that space to ones which will improve our chances of survival higher. We humans say we forgot but infact it's just
interference.

Unlearn things which don't improve your chance to hit goal

Do you know the first toy you ever played with? Or do you know the name of your first school bag? These are often told to us by our parents and caretakers that we never used to live without them during our childhood. Why did we forget them and they remember it?

Because they learnt that means a lot to you and when you grew up, you learnt there is more things in this world to learn apart from this toy. This is called Motivated forgetting. In other terms unlearning

As we grow more and survive a lot, few tend to catch up on few things which reduces chances of survival. These can be bad practices, bad community and so on. It starts of with a playful try, but then latches on as addiction. Unfortunately they realise its bad for them but it becomes tedious task for them to leave that addiction.

Addiction is whole different topic to right on, so I will not touch this part in this blog.

They are not just surving real world but trying to control choas in themselves to unlearn this dopamine booster.

While learning helps us a lot, so does unlearning. Now, let's consider ourselves, 2 years before this pandemic, we knew sanitizer was good to maintain higenity and still made fun of those who used it. Now, we unlearnt that sanitizer is not something we should make fun of as it's saving life, rather share this principle to our community!

Unlearning does not only intend to bad habits, it has played vital role in survival of entire humanity! How?Science. Did you know in science learning, unlearning and relearning are true principles! We engineers, doctors, scientists and many professionals are always in search of a way, which is best fit for humanity on the goals and objectives we are working on. Due to this, there are many methods and processes, these are built due to learning, unlearning and relearning.

Consider back at 1900's if scientists thought, communicating via posts and papers were sufficient then at our current world we wouldn't have access of information at our finger tips.

Give a chance to your brain to Relearn

During your childhood, few topics pose difficult or rather extremely confusing to learn and you choose the path to learn amoung the confusion due to peer pressure or marks assigned to that topic, You survive for that day.  But, later in your life you realise the value of that topic when you unlearn and Relearn it! This significant moment you truely respect person who has put efforts behind this topic.

Relearning should be prioritised in this fast and ever changing world to adopt and relearn our motives and goals to layout plans. If you have set a goal, go back, ask again, why was it set? Is it solved? If you ask these questions, you will realise if these goals are correct or if laid out plans will work for next certain timeline.

I learnt this by relearning one of the topics which I thought I already knew. Never to say, our brains always has its goals while learning, and it picks up only those terms which makes sense to it for surving that situation. So, its always good to go back and tell your brain if information fed is correct or not.

I have written this blog after a long time and it's good to be back to share my experiences. Will try to update as frequently as possible. 😃

lesson 1-Everyone's motive is to survive

Survival defines motive for many people to strive longer to achieve their goal. Survival also defines your emotion to an object, position or relation. Survival will make us thrive to hit the bullseye even from far distance. It is the last that we have got to stay where we want and where we want to be. Survival motive may vary from person to person but in the end, they shout out be in the world that they dreamt of. For a Farmer, it is food and money to survive, for a kid its learning and food, for a businessman its good deal between partners and for an engineer it is the product that defines its purpose. why does everyone think of survival? Instinct developed subconsciously by the brain to be away from threats or being dropped out of the crowd. Let me give you an example, Teacher at your school might give you an assignment which is easy but the deadline was given way to near. We tend to use "hook or crook" method to complete the necessary task but, if we couldn...

Lesson 2- Believe in your positives

Believe is a word that inspires you to live for a day or more in your life. Believe is the word that ensures you to survive today no matter how many challenges you face. Believe is the word that lets you make the decision for your future. Believe is an emotion that you convey to your peer that you're strong enough to handle the given task. Believe in your decision and make them your positives. Why should I believe myself when my decisions are always bad?  No one is born a genius, an expert or a leader. It is on their belief and acceptance of their decision on any outcome. It is our belief on how we should act further from the current outcome of the decision. The given flowchart below is one of my experiences and method that I personally follow to obtain the goal on whatever decision I make. I just believe in myself that a failure is a next step for the success. Example: A mother never fails to give up on her teaching just because she wants to see the other end of the ...

Lesson 5-Mind is your playground

Have you ever felt uneasy when someone takes a slice of pizza from your plate or kills an opportunity when you are about to score a goal? it is due to ripple created in your brain. To survive through the toughest and most unpleasant conditions like challenging your most bizarre addiction, to getting that flying color marks in your exam, your mind needs to be controlled, concentrated and understand what you do. Our mind is a cheeky one, anything new and interesting it gets pulled off like a strong magnet, but it's up to us on what to focus and how to focus. We might have observed that we often tend to do too many things but end up with bad results, this is due to scattered thoughts on other people opinions. Have you ever felt irritated by too many suggestions? Example: While playing a game on your mobile if your friend suggests you to do that or this, while taking decisions on our career our parent's continuous suggestion would be a tough time of our lif...
